Who we are
Beyond Hoops Africa is a sport for development organization using sports and life-skills to empower youth and children. BHA rides on sport’s ability to educate, empower and inspire youth from all walks of life. Sport is inherently about drawing on, developing and showcasing young people’s strengths and abilities. We aim to shine a light on what youth can do, rather than what they cannot do. This strength-based approach promotes hope and encourages youth and their communities to adopt a positive outlook. Our current programs are run in Kenya.

Programs
At Beyond Hoops Africa, our programs are rooted in the belief that every young person deserves the chance to grow, lead, and thrive.
Through sport, education, and creative expression, we deliver youth-centered programs that respond to the unique needs of communities in both Kenya and Canada.
In Kenya, our programs focus on grassroots empowerment through sport, literacy, entrepreneurship, and environmental action — helping youth unlock their full potential and lead change in their communities.
In Canada, we support newcomer and racialized youth through inclusive programs that promote leadership, anti-racism, creative expression, and global connection.
